Joan Lee Babcock, 77, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at her home in Cedar Falls. She was born December 10, 1933 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Clyde K. and Esther (Mathes) Cook. Joan graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1951. She married Robert L. Babcock October 3, 1953 in Cedar Falls.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Cedar Falls; one son, Kerry Babcock, of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Tammy (Fred Barker) Holly of Rogers Arkansas, Sheilah (Robin) Nunnally of Cedar Falls and Tara (Rex) Meyer of Waterloo; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren; her mother, Esther Cook, of Cedar Falls; four sisters, Jeanette (Wayne) Ware and Janice (Ron) Heth, both of Cedar Falls, Joyce (Jess) Caughron of Waterloo, and Jeri Ann (Bob) Makinster of Rockford, Iowa.
Joan was preceded in death by her father, two sons, Shawn and Kevin Babcock, one grandson, Joshua Hummel, and one granddaughter, Shelly Babcock.
