OAKDALE — James Edward Jones Sr., 90, died Friday, July 5, 2002, in his residence.
His services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, in First United Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home.

OAKDALE, La. - Funeral services for James Edward Jones, Sr. will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in the First United Pentecostal Church of Oakdale with the Rev. Darren Miller and the Rev. Derwood Hammer officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones, 90, of Oakdale passed away Friday, July 5, 2002, in his residence.
Mr. Jones was a native of Natchitoches, La. and a life long resident of Oakdale, La. He was an active member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Oakdale for 68 years, he was a Sunday school teacher for 25 years and a deacon in his church for 33 years. He also retired from Reichold Chemicals, Inc. with 26 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Atlas Jones of 63 years of marriage and his first born son, James Edward Jones, Jr.
Survivors include his three daughters, Anita Dykes of Port Neches, Texas, Marvel Chamberlain of Glenn Heights, Texas, and LaDonna Chamberlin of Nederland, Texas two sons, Donald Jones and Billy Wade Jones, both of Oakdale, La. and thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ray Chamberlain, Dennis Jones, Jimmy Dykes, Trent Chamberlain, Chad Jones, Darin Chamberlain, Joel Broussard, and Kennis Jones.
Friends may call today in the church from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
