DEATH CLAIMS WILLIAM WITT
William Fred Witt, 65, died at his home at 4 Woodrow Ave., late Friday night following a brief illness. He was a native of LaPorte, Ind. Mr. Witt had been a resident of Vallejo for the past 33 years and was a retired Mare Island Naval Shipyard nickel plater. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Naval Lodge No. 87, F. & A.M. Mr. Witt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Witt of Vallejo; a brother, Charles Witt of Vallejo; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Kempf of Lansing, Mich.; Mrs. Elsie Cutler of Sturgis, Mich.; Mrs. Alvina Palen of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Helen Hoag of Constantine, Mich. Funeral arrangements will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Wiggins Funeral Home, where friends may call after 9 a.m. today. Rites will be conducted by members of Naval Lodge 87, F and AM, and interment will follow in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
