JOSEPH COYNE, 35, CLARK MILLS, DIES

Clark Mills - Exact cause of the death of Joseph Coyne, 35, of this village, is yet to be determined. The man died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1935, in the rear seat of an automobile en route to a Rome hospital for medical treatment for a sudden illness. Theory of alcohol poisoning, advanced following a preliminary examination, has not as yet been abandoned. Dr. Herman J. Haberer, Utica coroner, announced Saturday ,after an autopsy at Utica State Hospital, that the man could have died of natural causes although there were traces of alcohol in his stomach.

Mr. Coyne was born in England, son of the late John Patrick and Ellen Craig Coyne. He came to this country about 21 years ago. He attended the local schools and was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills. Mr. Coyne was a laborer and a well known athlete. He is survived by six brothers; Thomas, Westmoreland; Leo, Detroit; Lawrence, Norwich; Vincent, Whitesboro; Austin, Clark Mills and Bernard, Rochester.
