Esther R. Barrett, 85 formerly of Curwensville and most recently a resident of the DuBois Nursing Home died on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at DuBois Regional Medical Center - West.

She was born on June 6, 1917 in Curwensville, PA, a daughter of the late Guy and Laura (Bennett) Lippert.

Mrs. Barrett was a homemaker and was a member of the Curwensville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she served as Sunday School/Nursery teacher for 65 years and taught summer vacation Bible School.
She was one of three who founded the Alliance Women's Fellowship and also held the Good News Club children's meetings in her home.
A regular attendee to Mahaffey Camp, she received a Senior Award in recognition of her service to the ministry.
Mrs. Barrett was also a member of the Clearfield County Extension Craft Club.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, J. Maurice Barrett, whom she married December 25, 1939 in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church Parsonage in Curwensville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, a sister, Beatrice Olmstead and brothers Ralph Lippert, Wilmer Lippert and Floyd Lippert.

Funeral services will be held at the Curwensville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday from
2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Wednesday at the church from 10 - 11:00 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church: New Ministry Wing or Great Commission Mission Fund, 805 Susquehanna Avenue, Curwensville
