VIRGINIA BEACH - Daniel Webster Alexander, 79, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 29, 2010.
A native of Columbia, N.C., he was the son of the late Joseph and Cora Alexander and was the retired owner of Alexander Billing Service. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Norview Baptist Church for 10 years and Kempsville Baptist Church for the past 35 years. Dan had a passion for sports, especially softball and basketball, both playing and coaching throughout his life.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy; two daughters, Lynn and her husband John Brazie, and Kay and her husband Reggie Hester; and five grandchildren, Lauren Sanders and her husband Dennis, Jordan Brazie, Danielle Hester, Davis Hester and Ross Hester.
A funeral will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Kempsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Reggie Hester officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
