Donald J. Nutt was born 16 May 1936 in Pleasant Hill to parents, James Dixon Nutt and his wife, the former Ina Margaret Hartsock.

Donald J. Nutt served with the U. S. Navy, stationed on the U. S. S. Brown. He belonged to VFW Post No. 5129, and went to many ship reunions with other servicemen.

He trained as a barber and earned his living that way for a while. He later worked for Bueter Bakery and for Bergman Candy and Kohl Grocery. He also worked for the Quincy City Transit until he retired in 1999.

Favorite pastimes for Donald J. Nutt included following the Chicago Cubs games, playing Texas Hold 'Em card games, collecting coins, and traveling to Las Vegas.

Donald J. Nutt, a resident of Quincy Illinois, passed away at a St. Louis, Missouri hospital, aged 73. In addition to both parents, his brother Kerry Nutt and his sister Marcia Hale predeceased Donald J. Nutt.

Reverend Jerry Harris presided at funeral services for Donald J. Nutt, which were held at a Quincy, Illinois funeral parlor. Interment took place at Greenmount cemetery, in Quincy, Illinois.
