Ruby B. Ahner, 69, of Carbondale, formerly of Jacob, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 1996, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Services will be in Christ Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Thomas E. Fast officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Gorham. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home in Ava. Memorials may be made to the church building fund or the Aid Association for Lutherans.
Mrs. Ahner was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Carbondale Senior Citizens.
She was born June 4, 1927, in Neunert to Herman and Frieda Darnstaedt Zerbst. She married Milton Ahner on Sept. 23, 1949, in Neunert. He died March 30, 1973.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Terri Ahner of Jacob; one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Richard Behring of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Ralph Zerbst of Murphysboro; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Her parents and stepmother also preceded her in death.
