Donald Patrick (Pat) Adams passed away peacefully in his home after a long fight with cancer. He was 65 years old.

He was born in San Diego, the third son of Col. William and Jean Adams, but lived most of his life in Coronado. At the age of 2, in March 1941, the family was transferred to Hawaii, but after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, they returned to Coronado in March 1942. Pat went all the way through the Coronado school system, graduating from Coronado High in 1956.

He was then accepted into the Apprenticeship Program for Machinists at North Island Naval Air Station. After completing the ApprenticeshipProgram, Pat enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving three years in Germany during the Cold War. When his military service was finished, he returned to North Island NAS, where he worked as a Machinist, a Planner and Estimator and a Tool Designer, retiring in October 1995.

When not working, Pat's great love was surf fishing. After his retirement, he delighted in teaching his sons the art of catching a fish. Survivors include his wife, Frances; sons, William and David; brothers, Bill, Gene and Wil; sister, Elda Stevens and her husband Bill; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for, Saturday, February 12, at 2 :00 p.m - at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, 10th Street and C Avenue, Coronado, CA. Following will be a "Celebration of Life" at the home of Larry and Brenda Kracht, 620 Coronado Avenue, Coronado, CA.
