Dorothy Jeane Anctil 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011, at an Overland Park, Kan. health care center.
She was born December 3, 1928, in Otterville, Mo., daughter of Jewel and Bernard Dugan. She graduated from high school. She worked at the St. Joseph School District for 25 years in the dietary department, she worked as a floral designer with the Bennett Garden Center and the Furber Garden Centers, and she also worked as a receptionist at the ABC Lumber Company.
She loved to golf, and enjoyed water aerobics, and exercise. She was a member of charter member of the Ladies Afternoon Club at Fairview golf course. Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church, St. Joseph.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Phyllis Byrd.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Anctil, of the home; son, Paul Anctil and wife, Paula of Lenexa, Kan.; a daughter, Charlotte Anctil of Shawnee, Kan.; a grandson, Devin Anctil; two sisters, Eunice Godfrey of Lenexa, Beverly Collier of Springfield, Mo.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at First Christian Church, St. Joseph; with Rev. Chase Peeples officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the First Christian Church, St. Joseph. The Interment will be at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Gladstone, Mo.
Memorials are requested to the YWCA Battered Women's Shelter, or Royal Family Kids Camp c/o 1st Christian Church, St. Joseph.
