Joachim Schnell, a well-known and respected resident of Town Liberty, accidentally drank from a bottle containing lye a few weeks ago. The 79-yr. old man must have suffered terrible pain until Thurs. last week when death overtook him. The Schnell family, consisting of three brothers,settled in Town Liberty in 1849 when it was nothing but a wilderness and the wolves and foxes said goodnight to everybody. Through hard work the brothers beat back the wilderness and established a homestead and the family now belongs among the most eminent in the area. The recently deceased Joachim Schnell leaves a widow and 5 children.
