Mrs. Millsaps, 84, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in her residence with her family near her side.
Gertrude was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Jewel Chapter 100, VFW Ladies Auxiliary of 3687 Sgt. Leroy Johnson Post and the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. H. "Bates" Millsaps; her parents, William Henry and Eula Sheppard Bishop; three brothers, Henry Bishop, Hardy Bishop and William Bishop and two sisters, Eula Widmer and Ruth Mott.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, William Henry Millsaps and his wife, Wanda of Oakdale; one daughter, Eula Ann Lemoine and her husband, Clifton of Mamou; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
