Henry Lou Korensky was born April 22, 1926 on a farm near Tobias, Nebr., the son of Frank and Anna Korensky. He lived with his parents there for seven years, after which they moved to Friend, Nebr., living there for six years. They resided near Fairmont, Nebr., but moved south of Hebron in 1939, and so graduated from Hebron High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy and served two years.

On December 21, 1946, Henry was joined in marriage to Loetta Faye Meinen at Concordia, Ks., by the Rev. John C. Kilde. The union was blessed with two children, Donna Lou and David Wayne.

The family lived near Chester for six years, and then moved east of Hebron. Henry was a farmer for his entire life.

He was baptized and confirmed in Grace Lutheran Church, Hebron, Nebr., on July 8, 1956, and so became a faithful member of the Lutheran Church.

He loved to fly, and had his own plane for the last year. He was killed in a sudden crash of his plane on Sunday evening, Sept. 1, at the age of 37 years, 4 months, and nine days.

He is survived by his wife, Loetta Faye of Hebron; two children, Donna and David, also of Hebron; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Korensky of Chester; one brother, Frank Korensky of Chester; one sister, Mrs. Rose Vejraska of Crete, Nebr.; quite a number of uncles, aunts and other relatives living in Czechoslovakia; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Meinen of Hebron; and many friends.

Services were conducted at the Grave Lutheran Church, Hebron, Wednesday, Sept. 4. Pastor John Minneman was in charge. Burial was in the Chester Cemetery. The pallbearers were J.R. Kenner Sr., J.R. Kenner Jr., Max Degenhardt, Dean Osher, Ed Baxa and Bob Baxa.

NOTE: THE BODY WAS LATER RE-INTERRED IN HEBRON CITY CEMETERY.

Hebron Journal 8-30-2023-60 Years Ago, 1963:
A small two-place airplane smashed into a rain soaked hillside a mile east of Hebron just before dark and snuffed out the lives of two well-known Hebron men, Henry Korensky, 37, owner of the plane and a local farmer and stockman, and his passenger, Russell L. "Rusty" Mittan, 31, a scale officer at the state weighing station south of Hebron.
