Bessie Irene Osborne, daughter of Henry and Myrtle Matthew Osborne, was born on December 3, 1916 in Vandalia, Fayette County, Illinois and died on December 21, 2001 in Adams County, Illinois. Obituary:

Mrs. Bessie I. Conners, 85, of 301 N. 8th, our beloved mother and grandmother went home to her heavenly Father on Friday (December 21, 2001) at 10:50 p.m.

Born December 3, 1916 in Vandalia, IL., Bessie was the daughter of Henry and Myrtle Matthews Osborne. She married Clarence W. "Buss" Conners Sr. on June 30, 1937 in Palmyra, MO. He died June 8, 1984.

Mrs. Conners was a faithful and devoted member of Bible Baptist Church for most of her life. She spent her entire life loving and helping her family.

Surviving are four daughters, JoAnn Durbin and her husband Donald, Phyllis Schaefer, and Connie Powell and her husband Douglas, all of Quincy, and Pam Uppinghouse and her husband Randy of Payson; two sons, Clarence "Butch" Conners Jr. and his wife Barb of Beecher, IL., and David Conners and his wife Kay of Pleasant Hill; twenty grandchildren, Donald Durbin, Steven Durbin, Shelly Holtman, Deborah Leindecker, Terri Blair, Raymond Leindecker, Penny Hoener, Jay Schaefer, Russell Schaefer, Mitzie Pullman, Doug and Mike and Becky Powell, Angie Hale, Donna Williamson, Cindee Tipton, Matt and Luke Conners, and Randy and Ritchie Uppinghouse; twenty seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and one sister, Essie Merriman and her husband Melvin of Vandalia.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Donna "Toni" Leindecker; two brothers; and five sisters...

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Bible Baptist Church by the Rev. Jack McCollough. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church...
