The following are the full text of newspaper articles found in a scrapbook belonging to Bernice's mother, Ida Gwinner Meyer Allen. Her granddaughter has the scrapbook in her possession.
"Mrs. George O. Elder, Jr. of Everson, whose wedding was an event of February 8, in St. Marks Lutheran Church, city, is the former Miss Bernice V. Meyer." There was an accompanying photograph of Bernice in her wedding gown and veil.
"Rome, February 10......Mesdames Frombly, Fred Gwinner, Leonard Gwinner, and Dave Cress were hostesses at a bridal shower given at the Rome Grange Hall Monday evening for Miss Bernice Meyer. About eight guests were present. The evening was spent in games. Miss Meyers was the recipient of many beautiful gifts."

Reverend Smith read the wedding service at 8 o'clock, in the presence of nearly 100 relatives and friends.
Miss Meyer had as her only attendant Miss Dorothy Chichester of this city. Mr. Elder's best man was his brother, James S. Elder, and the ushers were Mr. Warren Meyer, brother of the bride, and Mr. Melvin Gwinner, her cousin.
Preceding the ceremony, Mr. Oddmund Valum sang "Because" and "Oh Promise Me", accompanied by Mrs. Leonard Gwinner, who also played the wedding marches.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in white silk net over satin, her veil caught to a cap of white roses and lilies of the valley. Pink rosebuds and Freesia fashioned her bouquet.
Miss Chichester wore aquamarine blue net over satin, with rhinestones, her bouquet Talisman roses with maiden hair fern.
A reception in the church dining room followed the ceremony. After the bride had cut the first piece of her cake, it was cut and served by Misses Helen Blythe and Verna Thomas, cousins of the groom. Presiding at the urns were his sisters Mrs. Elvin Kale and Mrs. Neil Bartleds.
After the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Elder left for a short honeymoon trip, their destination a secret. For going away the bride wore a tan crepe dress and teal blue coat with brown fur trim and accessories to match. They are to reside at Everson.
Preceding her marriage, the bride was honored with a shower at the Rome Grange Hall given by her three aunts, Mrs. David Cress, Mrs. Fred Gwinner, and Mrs. Leonard Gwinner. Friends and relatives attending presented her with many gifts displayed during the evening which was spent in games and card playing."
Bernice passed away from complications of dementia. She is Loved and Missed Dearly by her family!!
