Word has been received here of the dangerous illness of E. S. Roe, formerly of Decatur, now of Elm Grove, W. Va. Mr. Roe was a resident of Decatur for a long time and will be remembered by the older people of the city. The message received here stated that he was unconscious and there was no hope for his recovery. His daughter, Mrs. Garver of Argenta, was called to his bedside and left Wednesday morning. If Mr. Roe dies, his body will be brought here.

Word was received in Decatur today of the death of E.S. Roe who lived in Decatur for many years. A few years, he moved to Elm Grove, W. Va. The body will arrive here Thursday morning and will be taken to the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. A.W. Hendricks of 1761 North Water street where funeral services will probably be held Friday morning. A daughter, Mrs. D.H.Garver, lives in Argenta. Many other relatives and old friends live in and about Decatur. Mr. Roe was ninety-three years old. His wife, who is about ninety years old, is still living but seriously ill in W. Virginia and unable to accompany the body.
