Mrs. Ellsworth Taken By Death

Mrs. Albert E. Ellsworth, member of a prominent Delta County Pioneer family, and widow of a widely known Escanaba druggist, died at 6pm Monday at her home, 815 S. 10th St. She was 77.
Mrs. Ellsworth, who had been ill the past six weeks, had just been released from St. Francis Hospital following continued improved in her condition.
Born in Menasha
She was born, Frances Blake, in Menasha, Wis., Aug. 18, 1877, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Blake. Her father later was to become one of the most widely known early day lumbermen of the Upper Peninsula.
Mrs. Ellsworth was closely associated with church, civic, and club and social welfare activities throughout her residence in Escanaba. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and of its Guild and took part in both general parish and Guild work.
She was a past president of the Escanaba Women's Club a member of R.C. Hathaway Chapter 49, Order of the Eastern Star and the Escanaba Yacht Club.
Funeral Services Thursday
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John J. Mitchell, the former Kathryn Horton, Escanaba, and one son, Attorney Warren C. Horton of Chicago; four grandchildren Mrs. Calvin Larson, the former Nancy Moran, of Denver, Colo,; Mrs. Ward Schram, who was Sue Moran, Greenville, Miss Sergeant James Moran, who is stationed in Korea; and Miss Martha Moran, a student at Northern Michigan College of Education, Marquette; one great grandchild, Sally Larson, Denver; and one sister, Mrs. Nancy B. Thomas, librarian of Carnegie Library.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Joseph S. Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends of the family may call at the Anderson Funeral Home beginning Wednesday afternoon.
