U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the law department of Lake Forest University, Chicago, in 1900, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in the United States Treasury Department, (1900-19). Moving to Michigan, in 1920, he engaged in agricultural pursuits and was a delegate to the Democratic State conventions, (1924, 26, 28). In 1933, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third Congress, serving until 1935. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his agricultural pursuits until his death at age 81.
