FRANK BALDWIN LAID TO REST SUNDAY
Funeral services for Joseph Franklin Baldwin who passed away Christmas day, December 25 at 11:30 p.m. at the Wilson County Hospital were held Sunday afternoon at the William Fawcett Funeral Home with the Rev. Marcus E. Payne of Independence, officiating.
...Mr Baldwin had been in failing health for about a year and seriously ill for the past three weeks.
A quartet composed of Miss Peggy Bryson, Miss Carol Curt, Frank Saker and Larry Reedy sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Ivory Palaces" and "Beyond The Sunset." Miss Ada Belle Hunter was the accompanist. Casket bearers were: Floyd Rosson, Oscar Skaggs, Elmer Johnson, J. B. Hardin, Ronald Klingenberg and Robert Marler. Interment was in the Neodesha cemetery.
Out of town relatives attending the services were: Mr and Mrs Wm. F. Baldwin, Junction City; Mr and Mrs Howard Brown, Independence; Mr and Mrs Elven Shoemaker and family, Augusta; Mr and Mrs Clyde Middleton, Wichita; Wm. H. Baldwin, Portland, Ore.; Mrs Francis Baldridge, Joplin, mo.; Harry F. Baldwin and Mrs James scott, Kingsdown, Kan.; Mr and Mrs Ted Proffitt and daughter, Ottowa; Mr and Mrs John Barber, Topeka; Mr and Mrs Earon Johnson and daughter and Mr and Mrs Ernest Webb, Flint, Mich.; Mr and Mrs Glen Geiger, Parsons and Mr and Mrs Alfred Hopkins, Dennis.
Our of town friends attending were Mr and Mrs Walter Middleton and Mr and Mrs Ralph Coots, Parsons; Mr and Mrs Lyle Middleton, Wichita; T. S. Hash, Fredonia and Mr and Mrs Leon Bianey and Mr and Mrs Aaron Langley, Independence and others.
Frank [Dick] Baldwin was born June 24, 1885 at Neodesha to W. D. and Lucy Cook Baldwin, pioneer residents of Neodesha, and resided here all his life. he was married on October 12, 1909 to Miss Bertie Myrtle Lukenbill at Independence.
Mr Baldwin's parents owned and operated a grocery store in Neodesha for many years where he was employed early in life. He was later employed at the smelters here and also at the Standard Refinery. His last employment was with the city of Neodesha until his failing health caused him to retire.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs Myrtle Baldwin, two sons, William F. Baldwin, Junction City, Don R. Baldwin, Neodesha; three daughters, Mrs Howard Brown, Independence, Mrs E. W. Shoemaker, Augusta, and Mrs Clyde Middleton, Wichita; two sisters, Mrs Lucy Handley, Miss Mary Baldwin, Neodesha; one brother, William H. Baldwin, Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A son, Randall, died in infancy in 191
