This obituary was found in my mother's little white box. In this box she kept obituaries of all family members, friends, neighbors, and just about anyone she knew. I have no idea where this lady fit into my mother's life.
Mrs. Carrie Odessa Burnside, age 99, of Dewey Gray Circle, died Friday, August 23, 1991, at Windemere Nursing Home. Services will be held at Poteet Funeral Home, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs Burnside, a native of Upshur County, W. Va., had lived in Augusta for 42 years, and had retired as a beautician. She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Dolores B. Jones, North Augusta; and three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Fred Key, Clyde Revis, Clyde Reed, and Thurmond Amerson.
