Mrs. Nancy Decker died at her home near Saluvia early Wednesday morning, December 20, 1944. She had been seriously ill for only a week. She was aged 79 years, 10 months and 29 days. Mrs. Decker was a daughter of the late D. S. and Margaret Sipes Mellott and was born January 21, 1865 in the home where she spent her entire life. She was united in marriage to Fernando Decker, September 26, 1883, at the U. B. Parsonage at Dane by the Rev. John Croft. She was a faithful member of the Asbury M. E. Church at Green Hill She is survived by seven children: Russell of Cleveland, Ohio; Ada, wife of Harry B. Hanna of Deshler, Ohio; Lois, wife of Frank E. Mellott, Bloomdale, Ohio; Lee of Fosteria, Ohio; Ray and Edward of Saluvia, Pa., and Clara, wife of Bruce Lake, near Harrisonville, Pa.; also by 25 grand children and 16 great grand children. Surviving are two sisters and one brother, namely: Mrs. Francis Strait of Saluvin; Mrs. Jennie Deshong, Rising Son, Ohio and Leonard Mellott of Deshler, Ohio. Six sisters and four brothers
deceased. Funeral services were held on December 22 at 2 o'clock at the Green Hill M. E. Church, Rev. E. J. Groft of Bridgeport, Pa., assisted by Rev. Everett Woodcock of Hartford, Conn. officiating. Her body was laid to rest in the beautiful Green Hill cemetery.
