Born in Germany, Christian Rittger, 85, passed away on Sept. 23, 1911 in Harvel, Illinois.

He married Dorethea Lampe(d.1857) in Germany both coming to America in 1854 with daughter, Conradine 'Dena' Rittger Boedecker(1851-1923). Married second wife, Sophia(1835-1900)also from Germany in Morrisonville, Illinois 1861.

His daughter, Dena Boedecker married Ernest Boedecker and are buried in Carlinville, Illinois in the small Mt. Zion Cemetery. Sons: Herman, Otto, Charles and Louis Rittger born and lived in Morrisonville, where they are also all buried in this same cemetery.

Christian's original burial location was in Harvel, where he passed away. His son, Herman, had his body moved to the Morrisonville Cemetery and reburied in a family plot which includes, Herman and his first wife, Laura and their son, Edward and daughter, Lois Vanzant and her family.
