Mrs. Addie Briggs was born in Beverly, Ontario, Canada, in 1855, and died at the home of Mrs. Robert McMullen, Grand Island, Nebraska, June 25, 1901, aged about 46 years. She spent her childhood years in the place of her birth and in 1872 she moved with her parents to Toronto, where in 1877 she married Mr. Herbert Briggs. They resided in that city until her (sic) death. She was in ill health for several years, and came to this city very recently with the hope that the change might prove beneficial, but in one short week she breathed her last. She leaves a husband and son and two sisters in Canada, and a sister, Mrs. Robert McMullen in this city, to mourn her loss.

...The funeral was conducted by Dr. Winship, pastor of Trinity M. E. church, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Robert McMullen... Very sympathetic reference was made to the far away husband and son and sisters..
