US Congressman. Elected to represent Michigan's 3rd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1863 to 1867. Also served as a Delegate to the Michigan State Constitutional Convention in 1867, Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Michigan in 1868, and Federal Judge in 1870.
