The son of Thomas and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Logan.

Mr. Hugh Logan of Ringgold, Washington County, died at an advanced age.

During the illness of the deceased he experienced a great change of heart, and felt that this world was not his home. He sang the following lines but a short time before he died.

"And let this feeble body fail and faint or die,

My soul shall quit this mournful vale and soar to worlds on high.".
