The son of Anna Smith Kersner Lander Long (1883-1974) and her first husband, Victor Lander, Stanley K. Lander became known to me just weeks ago through an accident. As of this date (6 August 2011), he remains virtually unknown; all we know is that he died in 1943, according to a distant cousin on his father's side, "rather young." He is buried next to his mother in the Crawford Street Cemetery in Massachusetts. As new information is found this biography will be updated. Any information on him, e-mailed to me, will be highly appreciated.

Update, 2 October 2012:

We have just discovered that Stanley was a 1934 graduate of the Northeastern University School of Law; admitted to the Massachusetts bar, he was a practicing attorney. As well, the 1940 US Census, just released, says that Stanley was listed as "divorced"...which means that he was married! To whom, we do not know at this time. We will follow up on these two avenues of information as time warrants.

Update, 2 June 2013:

My cousin Stanley Lander was married to a Bessie Turchon, whose family appears to have been wealthy merchants in and around the Boston area. If anyone has any info on Bessie Turchon or what became of her, or the Turchon family in general, please do not hesitate to e-mail me. Thanks!

Update, 18 August 2013:

Stanley was born Samuel Solomon Kenneth Lander. Why he took the name Stanley is unknown. He married Elizabeth "Bessie" Turchon between 1926 and 1930. In 1930 Bessie, with the name Elizabeth Lander, married Sydney Drooker; he was 25, she was 23. The couple moved to Riverside, California, where Elizabeth died in 1991. Her parents were Barnett "Barney" Turchon and Rebecca (nee Kadish) Turchon. She may have had a brother named Peter and a sister named Sarah Esther Turchon. If anyone has additional info, please contact me...I would love to hear from you!
