Col. F. B. Hervey died at 7 o’clock this morning at the home of his son-in-law, Walter Lazenby, 1001 North Hobson street, at the age of 65 years. He had been ill for nearly a year past, but at times had recovered sufficiently to be about the city, though he never regained his strength after the attack began.
Col. Hervey was a Confederate veteran with a fine war record, and came to Shawnee many years ago, being engaged in the grocery business here for several years, retiring on account of ill health.
His wife and four daughters survive him. The children are as follows: Mrs. Lazenby, Shawnee; Mrs. Switzer, Shawnee; Mrs. William Vaughn, now of Atkins, Ark., where Mr. Hervey formerly lived, and Miss Grace Hervey, a well known teacher in the Shawnee schools.
The funeral services will take place at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning at Mrs. Lazenby’s home, 1001 N. Hobson street, interment at Fairview cemetery.
