Cecil E. Harvey, 69 of Boise, passed away Monday, November 11, 2002, at a Boise care center.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2002, at the Middleton Cemetery, 23660 Cemetery Rd., Middleton. Viewing will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday November 15, 2002, at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 N. Cloverdale Rd., Boise. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise.
Cecil was born May 20, 1933, in Middleton to Cecil and Mary (Bissell) Harvey. He was raised at the family homestead in Middleton and graduated from Middleton High School in 1951. He was an athlete and played baseball, football and was an Idaho All Star player in football and baseball. He went to work with Idaho Power as a lineman and later enlisted in the US Army where he served as a lineman in Germany. After his military service, he returned to work with Idaho Power where he worked for over 40 years as a lineman and later as a trouble-man until his retirement in 1991. He married Irma Wallace on October 22, 1955 in Emmett, Idaho. Cecil was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts with his boys and also coached little league baseball and Optimist football while his boys played. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and golf and he and Irma enjoyed their cabin in McCall from 1990-1994.
Cecil is survived by his wife Irma of Meridian, 2 sons Richard Harvey and friend Shelly Hughes of Meridian, Dennis Harvey and wife Jan of Boise, grandchildren; Melanie Thompson and husband Mark of Louisiana, Sheila , Matthew and Becca Harvey, all of Boise and a great granddaughter Kaitlyn Thompson. He is also survived by 2 sisters Josephine Freeman and husband Paul of Cambridge and Dorothy Freeman and husband George of Nampa. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sonya and his parents.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Horizon Hospice, 900 N. Linder Rd., Meridian, Id 83642.
