Temperance Jane Tucker married 1st, about 1821, James William Brooks (son of William J. Brooks and Sarah Warren Brooks) who was born about 1793, died about June 1829. Their children included: Hester Leah Brooks, James William Brooks II, James Henry Brooks and John Henry "Rabbit" Brooks.

Temperance Jane Tucker Brooks married 2nd Alfred Ledbetter, about 1830. Alfred died 12 May 1886. Tempy died 2 June 1896.

1 Emeline "Evey" Malinda Ledbetter, b. 8 Aug. 1831, d.10 Aug. 1899, Pope County, AR, wife of John Yow.

2. Lydia Adline Ledbetter, born 1833, died 1910, wife of 1st husband, John W. Morton and 2nd husband Joseph Underwood.

3. Tempy Caroline Ledbetter, born 8 May 1838, died 11 Feb 1920, wife of Alexander Brooks.

4. Alfred M. Ledbetter, born 1840.

5. Nancy L. Ledbetter, born 21 Feb. 1843, died 7 Apr. 1910, wife of George W. Whitley.

6. Archibald C. Ledbetter, born 17 Oct. 1847, died 8 Feb. 1876, husband of Nancy Emeline Nance. Archibald death due to hitting a tree limb while horse riding.

7. Calvin Thomas Ledbetter, born 19 Dec. 1849, died 14 May 1928, husband of Mary Catherine Thomas.
