She enlisted in the US Air Force in 1992, and was one of three crewmembers who were killed in the crash of an Air Force MC-130H Combat Talon II aircraft after take-off. Among her military awards and decorations were the Air Medal; Air Force Commendation Medal; and Air Force Achievement Medal [2].
She was survived by her father; her husband of nine months; two grandmothers; and step-siblings.
A public memorial service was held on June 28, 2002, at the Mother's Day Shrine, Grafton, WV. A memorial was also held in Florida. Interment on July 12, 2002.
