Deacon Lawrence Adams, 82, resident of the Sacred Heart Home-Little Sisters of the Poor in Oregon, Ohio, passed away October 22, 2008. He was born in Portland, Maine on January 26, 1926. Larry served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was ordained as a Deacon on May 21, 1988 and started his assignment at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Archbold, Ohio. His second assignment brought him to Toledo where he served as Deacon at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. Larry became well versed in the history of the Cathedral and enjoyed giving tours to the visitors. He is survived by 3 sons, 3 daughters, 1 brother, 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grand-children. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, son, daughter and sister. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on October 23, 2008. Memorial contributions in Larry's name may be made to Little Sisters of The Poor or Heartland Hospice.
