Romney - William Loft, 79, one of the owners of the Perkins and Loft service station business here, died in Home Hospital, Lafayette, at 7 a.m. Monday. He had been ill a month and a patient in the hospital two and a half weeks. A resident of the Romney area most of his life, he was educated in the Lauramie and Stockwell Schools and was in the service station business here for a number of years. He was a member of Romney Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge #441, the latter since 1917. Surviving are a brother, Joe of Romney and a sister, Mrs. Frank Perkins of Romney. Friends may call at Helms Funeral Home, Linden, after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Services there at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Richard Bowman officiating; interment in Salem Cemetery. Nieces and nephews survive.
