Born in Waymart, son of the late Coe Beckwith and Ruth Swingle Beckwith Beam, he had resided in Waymart all of his life and was a trustee of the First Baptist Church of Waymart. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of American Legion Post 889.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Miller, Prompton, and Emilie Petrilak, Waymart RD 1; two brothers, Walter, Honesdale, and Warren, Equinunk; one half-sister, Thelma Stratton, Waymart RD1; a step-sister, Jennie Bellis, Waymart RD 2; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted this morning in Waymart. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
