Clyde D. Jackson, 55, of 424 Elizabeth St., chief cashier for the Public Service Commission, died yesterday in Charleston Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. Mr. Jackson was a native of Grantsville, Calhoun County, and had been employed by the commission since 1935.
He attended public schools in Calhoun and Wood counties and later studied at Mountain State Business College at Parkersburg.
Mr. Jackson was a member of Grantsville Baptist Church, Eureka Lodge No. 40, AF & AM, at Grantsville; Tyrian Chapter 13 and Kanawha Commandery No. 4, Knights Templer; Beni Kedem Shrine and Tiskewah Chapter No. 88, Order of Eastern Star. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith H. Jackson; his mother, Mrs. Janie Belford Jackson of Grantsville; two sisters, Mrs. Dollie Garretson of Grantsville and Mrs. Geroldine Cunningham of Parkersburg, and a brother, Carl D. Jackson of Parkersburg.
Services will be tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kyle Haselden of the Baptist Temple officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
The body is at the funeral home and will remain there until after services.
