Daughter of Noah and Sarah (Baldwin) Cook. Husband Joshua Vennum died in Ohio. She moved to Illinois in 1852 bought an 80 acre farm and lived with Homer Parish and daughter Sarah Balwin Parish. In 1855 she moved with them to Tiskilwa, Il near where her son Sealy lived.

DIED. At the residence of her daughter, Sarah R. Parish, in Tiskilwa, Illinois, on July 20th, 1856, Mrs. Phebe Vennum, aged seventy-four years six months and one day. She emigrated from Fredericktown, Knox County, Ohio, in May, 1852. She was a consistent working member of the Presbyterian Church about forty years. She was helpless from paralysis since September 22d 1851. She bore her afflictions patiently without a murmur at any time. Blessed are they who died in the Lord, for their works do follow them.
