MOSER MOUNT AIRY - Mr. James Roscoe Moser, age 83, of 191 Fireside Lane, Mt. Airy, NC, widower of Mrs. Nina Hardy Moser, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Northern Hospital, of Surry County. He was born September 29, 1924 in Surry County, NC to the late James Dallas and Effie Haymore Moser. He was retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Karen Moser, Mt. Airy, NC, two grandsons, Keith Moser and Kyle Moser both of Mt. Airy, two sisters, Thelma Creed and Georgia Johnson both of Mt. Airy, two brothers and a sister,-in-law, Wayne and Sally Moser, Mt. Airy, and J.D. Moser, Winston-Salem. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moser was preceded in death by a son, James Keith Moser and a brother, Tom Moser, Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Todd Byrd, Rev. Kermit Gray and Rev. Carlton McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M., Monday, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, of Mt. Airy, where his body will remain, until carried to the church to lie in state, 30 minutes prior to the service, and other times at, 205 Fireside Lane, Mt. Airy, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mr. Mike Beasley, 172 Cadle Ford Road, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Northern Hospital Skilled Care and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
