Parents: Joseph Gaston Holden and Margie Irene McCollum Holden

Connie joined the Marine Corps Feb. 16, 1953 in Greenville, SC and went to boot camp in Parris Island, SC. There she met two sisters who were born in Lewistown, MT and they became lifetime friends.

After Motor Transport School at Camp Lejeune, NC, her job was driving officers to legal appointments, etc. and also conducting drivers license examinations. She enjoyed her job and was stationed at El Toro Marine Base near Santa Ana, CA.

After being discharged at the Oak Knoll Military Hospital in San Francisco, CA on Oct. 20, 1954, she attended school on the GI Bill studying accounting and business administration. She spent 35 years as an accountant. The last 31 years was with the Sam Wylde Company in Seattle, WA. She retired Jan. 28, 1995.

From 1956-2004 she lived on Vashon Island, Washington before returning to South Carolina.

She was a life member of the Women Marines Association.
