Monte Lee Brooks, 66, passed away on July 28, 2011 in Valley Center, CA.

He was born on August 9, 1944 in Southern California. He is the son of Thomas Finley and June Elaine Brooks. He lived in Hesperia from 1979 to 2006, then he moved to Lost Lake Resort on the Colorado River where the fishing is good. Monte retired from Hi Grade Materials. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Cuban Missle Crisis and the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson Brooks of Blythe, CA, daughter Tracy Favello of Cosmopolis, WA, son Billy Brooks of Hesperia, CA, sister Penny Brown of Medford, OR, step-son Patrick Peterson of Bakersfield, CA, 10 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy L. Brooks, his sister Cheryl Denny, sister Robin Brooks and brother Thomas Brooks.

Graveside service will be held on Monday August 8 at 11:45am at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Allen Bros. Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel is handling the arrangements.
