U.S. Congressman. Immigrating to the United States as child in 1886, he later was a real-estate broker, plus engaged in banking and in the manufacture of glassware, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1911, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-second and Sixty-third Congresses, serving until 1915. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was director of Northwestern General Hospital, (1893-1943), trustee of Temple University and a real-estate assessor for the City of Philadelphia, (1919-46). He then lived in retirement until his death at age 93.
