Raymond K. Marple, 97, of Morgan County, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Morning Pointe in Franklin.

He was born on Thursday, May 14, 1914 in Lebanon, Kentucky to the late Tyler and Sarah (Lankford) Marple.

In February 1942 he married Helen Lucile (Walker) Marple and she died on December 22, 2007.

Raymond was a Navy Veteran of WWII and retired from International Harvestor where he was a crane operator.

Survivors include sons, Thomas Marple and wife Martha of Bend, Oregon and Dennis Marple and wife Roberta of Montgomery, Texas; daughters, Margy Hannum and husband Loren of Morgantown and Linda Strickland of Morgantown; grandchildren, Kelly Baldwin, Scott Waltz, Carrie Fleener and Amy Kinsler; he is also survived by six great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Nebo Memorial Park.
