Barbara J. Baca passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 of congestive heart failure with her family by her side. She was 78. Her husband, Arthur M. Baca of Art's Appliance, preceded her in death.
A long time resident of the Sacramento area, she was born in Sweet Home, Oregon as Barbara Rucker on May 3, 1933, she met Art while living in Lebanon, Oregon and they were married in 1951. They moved to Sacramento, California in 1956 and then they moved to Orangevale, Calif., in 1967. She enjoyed getting out and being involved. She was active at her local church, Divine Savior Catholic Church, helped out at Christ the King Retreat Center and had many friends. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four daughters; Judy Gregory of Rancho Cordova, Janice Cornell of Citrus Heights, Jeanie Shelby of Orangevale and Jackie Vincent of Orangevale and their families which include nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, John Baca of Galt, Calif., and a sister-in-law, Mary Brotchner of Prescott, Ariz. She will be missed by all.
Services will be at Divine Savior Catholic Church on August 12, 2011 at 10 a.m. They are located at 9079 Greenback Lane, Orangevale, Calif. Her final resting place will be at the Fair Oaks Cemetery in Fair Oaks, Calif.
