Ella (Eliza Ellen Burton) Opper was born Nov. 18, 1858 in Flordia, Henry County, Ohio. Her parents, were James and Eunice Burton. Her mother died when Ella was born and she was raised by the Oliver & Edna Farnsworth family in Defiance County, Ohio. She is listed with the family as a one year old in the 1860 Census.

Because they had a large family with a daughter by the name of Eliza, they renamed Eliza Burton, Ella. She was loved by the family as if she had been born to them.
She met and married Miachel Opper (spelling on Death Certificate) who was born May 8, 1849 in Germany. He died March 26, 1918. The marriage date: Oct. 19, 1881 (Family Search. Org) in Ottawa County, Ohio.

They had two daughters: Gladys V. Opper Schmidt -- Fredrick K.; Daisy Opper Meachen -- Freeman; and two sons: Burton R. born 1883 who was a missionary in India at one time and Marion who once lived in Baltimore, Md.

Ella resided in Lakeside and Port Clinton before moving to Pricetown in 1909. After her husband passed away she moved to Newton Falls and resided with her daughter Gladys.

Mrs. Opper lived till she was 102 years old. She passed away at Colvin Rest Home. She had 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She is buried in the Newton Falls Cemetery, Westside. in lot # 137 in the McClure Addition.
