Ernest J. Dahlke, 82, of 2807 W. Faidley Ave., No. 315, died Monday, April 19 at the St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cem.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until time of service at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral home.
Mr. Dahlke was born Oct. 26, 1910, at Aurora to Rudolph and Ottalie (Krause) Dahlke.
He was educated in Grand Island.
He worked for the city of Grand Island.
He married Marian Roach on Nov. 21, 1936 in Grand Island.
He then worked for Yost, Sothman and Johnson Cashway Lumber companies in Grand Island. He then returned to work for the Grand Island City Water Department and retired in 1976.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marian of Grand Island; one son Gary Dahlke of Hallsville, Mo.; six daughters, Deanna (Mrs. Louis) Clintworth of Wolbach, Nancy (Mrs. Kenneth) Schultz of Doniphan, Sandra (Mrs Jerry) Higgins of Olathe, Kan., Connie (Mrs. Douglas) Kruse of Grand Island, Marilyn (Mrs. Bernie) Ziller of Tracy, Calif., and Robin (Mrs. Bruno) Burgess of Olathe, Kan.; 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and one sister Emma Grothrndick of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Enyeat, Elsie Stevens and Adele Rickert.
