- Mrs. Gertrude C. Shaffer Passes Away on Coast -
Mrs. Gertrude Shaffer, 55, resident of Lincoln until 1920, died at her home in Los Angeles, California, Tuesday morning. She was a member of the George family which came to Lincoln in the early days, and her [maternal] grandparents operated the Scoggin's House at Ninth and P Streets. Surviving her are her husband, Harry; two sons, Gilbert and Lester of Los Angeles; three brothers, P. L. and C. H. George of Los Angeles and Clinton E. of Lincoln and one sister, Mrs. Charles O'Dell of Los Angeles. The body will arrive in Lincoln Sunday morning.
