About 1880, he moved with his Wife Hannah and son Cyrus to Bradford, McKean County, PA where he went into partneership with his Brother Henry at J. M. Siegfried & Co. on Main Street. In 1882 he purchased E. T. Hazeltine's interest in "Variety House", a drug and stationary store in Warren, Warren County, PA where he relocated and spent the rest of his life as one of Warren's prominent citizens.
He served as Postmaster of Warren and was a Director of "The Citizen's National Bank" and "The Conewango Building Loan Association". He served on the Board of Directors and was the Treasurer of "The Warren to Jamestown, N.Y. Railroad". He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the 21st regiment of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
