Isaac Braden, who has been seriously ill for some time, died at his home just west of town, Saturday morning. Funeral services were held from the home, conducted by Rev. Holt of the M.E. chuck, after which remains were buried in Mitchell cemetery. Mr. Braden was an old soldier member of 24th Ind. Vols., and his funeral was largely attended by the old veterans, all of whom respected and loved the deceased. His body bore the marks of the battlefield and showed he was there when the fighting was done. He rests.

Ten old soldiers banded together. They had a mess chest with ten tin plates. The last soldier left, Isaiah Phipps, presented the old chest to Lena Braden Mann.
