Jack Alfred Davis

After a three-week illness of pneumonia, Jack Alfred Davis, 72, of 2027 Robinson av, passed away at 3 p. m. Monday in Portsmouth General hospital.
A retired farmer, Mr. Davis was born Dec. 14, 1873, in York, Ky. Sixteen years ago he located in Maloneton and lived there until last November when he moved to Portsmouth with his daughter Mrs. Gabe Ratcliff and family with, whom he. made his home.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Baptist church in Fullerton He is'survived by three children, Mrs. Ratcliff of the Robinson av address, Ernest, also of Portsmouth and Elby of Sciotoville. His wife, Jessie, died in 1930 and a son also preceded him in death.
His survivors include three grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Alvin of Raceland, George and Edward of York, Mrs. Ella Williams of York and Mrs. Zona Howerton of Walsh.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p. m. Thursday at Morton funeral home. Burial will be in the Davis cemetery in York.
