Forrest Leigh Tozer, 79, of Flossmoor, died Monday at South Suburban Hospital in
Hazel Crest. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Flossmoor
Community Church, Hutchison Road and Carroll Parkway, Flossmoor. Burial will be
at Homewood Memorial Gardens in Homewood. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m.
today at Tews Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood. Mr. Tozer was born
Oct. 29, 1922, in Morganstown, W.Va. He was an attorney and partner with Lord,
Bissell and Brook law firm in Chicago until his retirement. He was a member of
the Trial Lawyers Association, Flossmoor Country Club and Flossmoor Community
Church. Mr. Tozer played semi-pro baseball with the Marine Corps during World
War II. Mr. Tozer served in the Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean
War and he attained the rank of lieutenant. He received the Purple Heart for
injures he received in the battle of the Frozen Chosin reservoir. Mr. Tozer is
survived by his wife, Rosemary; two daughters, Elizabeth Christine Tozer and
Judith Ann Bardis; and two sons, Paul William Tozer and Thomas Aiden Tozer.
Memorials may be made to the Flossmoor Fire Department.
