PENDER-SMALL - At Kilda, Woodland Grove, Weybridge, Surrey, on the 5th of June, suddenly of heart failure, John Stewart Menzies Pender-Small, Esq., late of Dirnanean and Chesthill, Perthshire, eldest son of the late John Menzies Pender, Esq., and beloved husband of Constance Pender-Small. Funeral on Friday, 11th June, at the city of Westminster Cemetery, Hanwell, W., at 4 o'clock. Friends kindly accept this (the only) information.

SMALL, John Stewart Menzies PENDER-, Esq., of Dirnanean, and Chesthill House, Perthshire; and of Kirkhillocks, Forfarshire.

Eldest son of John Menzies Pender, Esq., of Auchindall, Inverness-shire, and of Glenferness, Nairnshire, who d. 1885 (by Amelia, who d. 1880, youngest dau. of the late Patrick Small, Esq., of Dirnanean), and nephew of the late James Small, Esq., J.P. and D.L., of Dirnanean, and of Kirkhillocks ; h. 1808 ; s. his brother James Small Pender, Esq., at Dirnanean, and at Kirkhillocks, and assumed the additional surname of Small by deed poll 1914, and his aunt the Hon. Mrs. Stewart-Menzies at Chesthill House 1917; m. 1888 Constance Mary Elizabeth, dau. of the late Capt. William George Carr, formerly 9th Madras Native Infantry (son of the late Rev. Canon Edward Carr, M.A., LL.D.), and has a dau., Valentine Eveline Mary Amelia, m. 1st 1909 Ernest Arthur Stiebel, Esq. (younger son of B. F. Stiebel, Esq., of Nottingham), who d. 1917; 2ndly 1918 Capt. C. H. Walter, M.C., temp. Capt. Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire L.I., and has a dau., Joan Valentine. Mr. Pender-Small was formerly Lieut. British S. Africa Police, S. Rhodesia. — Dirnanean, Blairgowrie, Perthshire.
