CYRIL “FAT” POTTER
Funeral services for Cyril H. “Fat” Potter were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 1993 at the LDS Church, 1000 West 4th North, Green River. Bishop Kaye Allred conducted the services. Graveside services and interment followed at the Manila Cemetery in Manila.
Potter, 80, of 4141 Rio Verde Drive, Jamestown, died at his home at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 1993 following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 8, 1912 in Lyman, the son of the late Charles V. and Attie Hoops Potter. He attended schools in Roosevelt and Manila, Utah and later worked as a foreman-operator for the Pacific Power & Light Water Plant. Potter was active in the Pacific Power & Light Retirement Association and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, David and Madeline Potter of Cheyenne and Cyril Douglas and Cheryl Potter of Green River; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline and James Elliott and Sara and Bob Barthel, all of Arvada, Colo.; a brother, Charles Potter of Green River; a sister, Zelda Fox of Seattle; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Potter was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Gardner, and Orval Potter and a sister, Thelma Boren.
